2017 AXIA SE 1.0 AT

The 2017 Perodua Axia 1.0 SE AT is the sporty mid-range automatic variant of the facelifted first-generation Axia lineup. Positioned above the Standard G variant and below the range-topping Advance (AV), the SE AT combines sporty styling, improved comfort features, fuel efficiency, and practical city driving usability while remaining affordable to maintain.

The 2017 facelift introduced a refreshed exterior design, upgraded engine technology with VVT-i, improved fuel economy, and additional convenience features, making the Axia SE one of the most attractive compact hatchbacks in Malaysia during its time.

Key Features (2017 Facelift Model)

The facelifted Axia SE received a noticeably sportier appearance compared to the Standard G variant.

Exterior:
Projector headlamps, sporty front and rear bumpers, rear spoiler, side skirtings, chrome door handles, LED signal side mirrors, clear-type rear lamps, and stylish 14-inch alloy wheels inspired by the Bezza Advance variant.

Interior:
Push Start/Stop button, Smart Entry with keyless access, touchscreen audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, white-illumination meter cluster, multifunction storage compartments, and semi-bucket fabric seats for improved comfort.

Cargo & Practicality:
Despite its compact dimensions, the Axia offers surprisingly usable cabin space together with foldable rear seats, practical storage areas, and excellent urban maneuverability.

Safety & Technology

The Axia SE AT came with improved safety equipment compared to the lower Standard G variant.

Safety Features:
ABS with EBD, Brake Assist (BA), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRC), rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child-seat anchors.

Airbags:
Dual front airbags for driver and passenger protection.

Important Note:
The 2017 Axia SE AT does NOT come with ASA (Advanced Safety Assist). That feature was only introduced later on newer facelifted AV variants beginning in 2019.

Driving Experience

The lightweight body and compact hatchback dimensions make the Axia SE AT extremely easy to drive in urban environments. Steering is light, visibility is excellent, and the suspension setup prioritizes comfort and fuel-efficient commuting.

The updated VVT-i engine introduced in the facelift model improved smoothness, efficiency, and refinement compared to the earlier non-VVT-i Axia models.
